Replacing the oil in a Peugeot 3008
I decided to replace the oil in my car. I drive a lot and it had been almost 20k km since the last time it was replaced. And as it turns out, the oil is easier to replace in a Peugeot 3008 than a Ford Ka. It’s all in reach, and not too tight. You only need to remove a few air-intake manifolds, which only requires a screwdriver. Besides that you need a few parts/tools: a 27mm socket wrench, a torque wrench, a new drain plug washer, a new filter, and a few litres of new oil. The oil filter is positioned behind some hoses, but reachable.
Before removing that cap, which houses the old filter, it’s important to drain the oil. That is easily done by loosening the drain plug on the oil pan.
After draining, the old filter can be removed using the 27mm socket.
After that, it’s simply a case of inserting the new filter, closing the drain plug (with a new collapsible washer!) and refilling the oil.
It was really easy, normally these jobs take a lot longer than I expect/hope. But this time it only took an hour.
