HolyMate at WHY2025
Last week, I’ve been at WHY2025. And we’ve made/given away around 80 litres of HolyMate. To do this, we made a ‘refrigerator’-tap installation. The DIWHY bar can be seen in the image below:

The tap installation
The tap installation is, in essence, just a well insulated box and a water cooler. The water cooler is a hacked ice-cube machine and the box is filled with four 8L oxebar kegs. The layout of the box can be seen below:

Then you spend a few evenings making a painted box with holes for a few dispensers.

We also hacked a cheap second-hand ice-cube maker to become a water cooler. The cooler in action can be seen below:

We didn’t have enough time to insulate the cooler itself better, resulting in quite a bit of condensation all around it. But it did manage to survive for the entire duration. At one point, one of the connectors to the radiator broke, but we fixed it using a giant mess of epoxy.
We also used a 20L kettle to make holymate on the field, which worked perfectly. We also used a force carburizer for the first time, and it worked perfectly. We managed to add fizz to holmate that wasn’t super cold.

Misc
We also brought stabby, who had a blast at the “What Hackers Yarn” stand in Heaven. And we also used the water-cooler to power a portable oscilloscope
